George III Inlaid Mahogany Chest-on-Chest, Late 18th Century - A George III Inlaid Mahogany Chest-on-Chest, Late 18th Century The inlaid molded cornice with paterae inlaid frieze, having canted corners above a conforming upper section fitted with two short over four long graduated drawers all with beading, flanked by herringbone inlay to the canted corners, resting on the lower section fitted with three long graduated drawers with beading and a molded base, raised on bracket feet. Oak, mahogany and pine secondary woods. Dimensions: Height 81in; width 44 1/4in; depth 22 1/2in. Provenance: From a Princeton, New Jersey Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. The hardware appears to be original and in the original drilled holes. Scattered small losses to molded elements. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches throughout.
