George III Mahogany Slant Front Desk, Late 18th Century - A George III Mahogany Slant Front Desk, Late 18th Century The hinged fall with mitered corners enclosing an interior with central paterare inlaid prospect door flanked by three valanced pigeon holes above two short over one long drawer, all above four graduated drawers with beading, raised on bracket. Oak and pine secondary wood. Dimensions: Height 41 1/4in; width 43 3/4in; depth 21in. Provenance: From a Princeton, New Jersey Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses. Shrinkage and age cracks throughout. There is a significant patch to the left side of the desk measuring approximately 6 x 3.25”. The hardware appears to be original. With key.
