Helen Bershad (American, b. 1934), Mixed Media on Canvas - Helen Bershad (American, b. 1934), Mixed Media on Canvas    ”Bluebirds Over”, 1986, an abstract work in acrylic and applied textiles, signed, dated, and titled verso.    Dimensions:  47” x 71” (not including the applied wooden extensions to the frame.  The Artist:  Helen Bershad's work is devoted to exploring color, form, space, and line as they exist on the surface of the canvas. Considered an abstractionist, the nature of her work directly relates to the abstract expressionist movement, but redefines its concepts through her own intellect and vision. Her work is held in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Moore College of Art, and The Delaware Art Museum, among other noteworthy institutions.
