A Philadelphia Sampler, Signed Mary Jones Levick and Dated 1836 - A Philadelphia Sampler, Signed Mary Jones Levick and Dated 1836   A vine border containing the alphabet above a religious verse flanked by floral motifs, signed dated and inscribed ”Mary Jones Levick Philadelphia 1836”, all on a linen ground   Dimensions : 17 3/4 in. x 17 1/4 in.; 21 in. x 20 3/4 in. (framed) Condition: Not removed from frame.  Does not appear to be glued down to a backing.  The edges with pin holes and losses.  Staining and discoloration to blacking and thread.  Frame possibly original with extensive loss to ebonized and gilt decoration.
