George III Inlaid Mahogany Tea Caddy - George III Inlaid Mahogany Tea Caddy , Circa 1800   The top with stained satinwood moth inlay, the front and canted corners with additional floral inlay motifs.  The hinged lid opening to reveal two lidded wells.   Dimensions: 7 1/8 in. wide, 4 in. deep, 5 in. high Provenance: from a Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia collection.  Condition: Lacking key.  Small piece of molding missing at top left side of top and chip and loss of veneer to left top side.  The wells recently lined in aluminum foil.  The top does not close flush.  Other minor nicks, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
