Beidermeier String-Inlaid Maple Writing Table, c. 1840 - Beidermeier String-Inlaid Maple Writing Table, c. 1840   The swivel hinged top opening to reveal an oval felt writing surface above a single drawer on a curule-form base.   Dimensions : 22 1/2 in. wide, 15 1/4 in. deep, 28 1/2 in. high, closed   Provenance : From a Main Line collection. Condition: Together with key, but unable to open drawer.  The felt surface later.  With some shrinkage cracks to veneer and small areas of infill.  Sotheby's inventory stick on underside.
