Dimensions: 9 in. x 6 in. (plate); 20 1/8 in. x 15 1/8 in. (framed) The reverse bares a label indicating this was sold at Sears, Roebuck, & Company as part of the ”Vincent Price Collection.” In 1962, the national retailer entered into a collaboration with Hollywood film star Vincent Price to market and sell art, ranging from Old Masters to contemporary artists like Pablo Picasso and Georgia O'Keefe. Price had studied art history at Yale and at the Courthauld, and had owned a gallery in New York City, before becoming a famous b-list horror movie star. Works from the Vincent Price Collection ranged from $10 to $3,000, and by the time the program ended in 1971, the company sold over 50,000 works. Condition: The paper taped to the mat across top.
