Responsum dated 1922 addressing a question regarding the permissibility of having benefit from forbidden foods. Rabbi Shimon Grunfeld (1880-1930), disciple of his father Rabbi Yehuda – Rabbi of Szenhimihaly, and of Maharam Schick, leading Hungarian halachic authority, known by the acronym ‘Maharshag’. Dayan in Munkascz and from 1907 successor to his father as Rabbi of Szenhimihaly. Author of Shaalos U’Teshuvos Maharshag (2 vols.). Rabbi Chananya Yomtov Lippa Deutsch (1908-1991), a disciple of the Levushei Mordechai of Mad and a number of other prominent Hungarian Rabbis. Son-in-law of Rabbi Yosef Abelesz of Shala. Dayan of Dovshina and after WWII Rabbi of Helmetz, Hungary. Emigrated to America in 1949, serving as Rabbi in Cleveland and later in Willamsburg. Author of Taharas Yomtov and renowned for his efforts for the construction and renovation of Mikva’os. 2 sides. 22 x 28.5 cm. Generally good condition. Fold marks, taped.
