RABBI CHAIM YITZCHAK MALIK, ROSH YESHIVA IN SZATMAR. APPEAL LETTER. 1939. Interesting appeal letter, written in 1939 by Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Malik, Rosh Yeshiva in Szatmar. The letter is addressed to a man called Rosenberg, who was apparently unknown to the writer. ‘I am from a poor family and due to my father’s poverty and other reasons, I was unable to learn Torah [in my youth], until at the age of 18 my heart was aroused and I wished to study Torah ...’ Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Malik (d. 1944), son of a poor tailor who began to study Torah at the age of 18. After studying at the Yeshiva of Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum, the Atzei Chaim of Sighet, he became a true Torah scholar. He served as Rosh Yeshiva at the Yeshiva of the Biksader Rebbe in Szatmar and that of Rabbi Ahron Roth – author of Shomer Emunim. 3 sides. 15 x 23.5 cm. Very good condition.
