PRE-HOLOCAUST LETTER DESCRIBING THE SUFFERING OF JEWS HOLDING FOREIGN NATIONALITY EXPELLED FROM POLAND IN 1939. LETTER BY RABBI ALTER YITZCHAK ISAAC WEINBERGER, RABBI AND ROSH YESHIVA OF TURKA, TO EZRAS TORAH. Rabbi Alter Yitzchak Isaac Weinberger; moving letter to Ezras Torah relief organisation in New York describing the distress and extreme poverty suffered by Jews in Poland shortly before the Holocaust. The letter describes the suffering of a lecturer at Rabbi Weinberger’s Yeshiva who was expelled from Poland by the Polish authorities, for being a Czechoslovak citizen, but was not being granted entry to Czechoslovakia either. Rabbi Alter Yitzchak Isaac Weinberger (1905-1974), Rabbi of Turka, founder and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Degel HaTorah. After his miraculous survival during WWII, he settled in Kew Gardens, New York.
