UJFALU RABBINATE CONTROVERSY! RABBI MOSHE SCHONFELD, RABBI OF LUKÓ, LETTER TO RABBI MORDECHAI FRIEDMAN, RABBI OF UJFALU, REGARDING FORMATION OF RABBINICAL COURT TO CONSIDER CHALLENGE AGAINST HIS APPOINTMENT BY HEIRS OF RABBI AMRAM BLUM. After the passing of Rabbi Amram Blum, Rabbi of Ujfalu and author of Beis She’arim, there was a dispute between the Ujfalu community and the former rabbi’s family over the succession. Eventually, Rabbi Mordechai Friedman, former Rabbi of Tet, was appointed Rabbi of Ujfalu. But his appointment was challenged by the family of the former rabbi (see Responsa Maharshag 1: Orach Chaim, 6 and Mishneh Sachir, Choshen Mishpat 6). This letter regarding the dispute is by Rabbi Moshe Schonfeld, Rabbi of Lukó, who had been chosen by Rabbi Friedman as a rabbinical judge in the case. Rabbi Mordechai Friedman, Rabbi of Simony, Tet and Ujfalu. Author of Techeiles Mordechai, commentary on Tosefta. Rabbi Moshe Schonfeld (1871-1935), Rabbi of Lukó. 1 side. 22 x 29 cm. Very good condition.
