RABBI YECHEZKEL BANETH, RABBI OF NEUTRA, LETTER TO HIS SON RABBI YERACHMIEL BER BANET, DAYAN OF LIPTO-SZT-MIKLOS, INCLUDING DISCUSION OF A HALACHIC QUESTION RAISED BY THE CHASSAM SOFER. HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER. 1841. Letter dated 1841, including discussion of a halachic question raised by the Chassam Sofer, as well as family matters. Also a short note in Yiddish-Deutsch by Rebbetzen Baneth addressed to her son and daughter-in-law. Rabbi Yechezkel Baneth (1777-1855), a disciple of the Maharam Mintz, Rabbi Mordechai Baneth of Nikolsburg and Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Baneth of Stampfen. Rabbi of Szetsin (1806), Paks (1824) and Neutra (1832). Leading Hungarian Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva and close colleague of the Chasam Sofer. A pillar of fire was seen at his grave for seven days after his burial! Rabbi Yerachmiel Dov Ber Banet (1815-1871?), son and disciple of the famous Rabbi Yechezkel Baneth of Neutra, and of the Chasam Sofer.
