HOOTON & JONES A .410 BOXLOCK NON-EJECTOR IN ORIGINAL LEATHER CASE Ser No 9109; - Chequered butt, richly figured, chequered rounded semi-pistol grip and forend. Plain, concave rib with embellishments to the breech end, engraved 'HOOTON & JONES, 60 DALE ST LIVERPOOL', hold-open top lever, automatic safety with 'SAFE' inlaid. The action engraved with acanthus scroll enhancements,  of particular note to the fences, 'HOOTON & JONES' mounted on a scroll. In the manufacturer's leather case, embossed 'HEREWARD CLARE LEES', with label and accessories.  Made for Sir William Hereward Clare Lees, 2nd Bt, 1904 to 1976.
