Japanese Wooden Himitsu-Bako Secret Puzzle Box - Wooden Japanese himitsu-bako or secret mystery puzzle box. With intricate inlaid geometric marquetry. Depicting a landscape scene along one side, and a vibrant bird amongst foliate motifs along the other. Height: 2 3/4 in x width: 6 in x depth: 4 1/4 in. Condition: No major losses to the inlaid decoration. Some separation to the joints. Slight warping to the wood. Small chips and light scratches throughout, especially along the extreme edges. A few small accretions. Interior not inspected for losses.
