(207 CE) Roman Severus Silver Denarius (VF) - (193-211 CE) Roman silver denarius (Rome Mint). Obverse: Emperor Septimius Severus with laureate head bust with legend ”Severus dutiful Emperor Augustus”, shown with distinctive forked beard. Reverse: Roma helmeted and draped holding Victory in her right hand and reversed spear in her left. Severus was born in Africa and was a soldier most of his life until he died at age 65, which was old for soldiers. Empress Julia Domna, his wife and father of emperors Caracalla and Geta. Wife known as ”mother of the gods”. Coin minted around 207 CE.
