I.W. Shaler Patent Model Carbureting Machine, 1869 - Patent model for apparatus for carbureting air by I. W. Shaler. Has what appears to be original hand written patent tag (patent No. 96842) with patent date of November 16 1869, and the handwritten patent application tag handwritten date is smeared, but the tag is an 1869 tag.. Also has a tag identifying this model as having come from the Mr. and Mrs. O. Rundle Gilbert Collection. We have printed out a copy of the original diagrams and description. Model is made of wood and metal. Includes 8.25” x 11” frame with copy of diagram. Measures approximately 7.25” x 6.75” x 9.25” tall. Weight: approximately 4.5 pounds. Wooden case has light wear. Internal mechanism is frozen, and may not be complete. Please see photos for details and condition.
