One page of vellum dated April 1, 1831, granting George Kimmel of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, 160 acres in Monroe Michigan Territory. Certificate number 1638 from Vol. 4, page 157. Signed Andrew Jackson as President and countersigned by Elijah Howard, Commissioner of the General Land Office. The visible portion of the document is approximately 15.5 x 9.5”. Framed and matted to a size of approximately 21-5/8 inches by 15-5/8 inches (Outer frame measurement). The original seal remains intact in the lower left hand corner. This piece has NOT been examined outside of the frame. Very light scattered soiling throughout.
