Karel Dujardin (Amsterdam 1626 - Venezia 1678) attribuito Scena bucolica con veduta di città (probabilmente Verona) Olio su tela 81 x 116 cm L'attribuzione si basa sulla presenza della mucca che si volta a guardare l'ipotetico spettatore, questo piccolo particolare fu più volte utilizzato da Dujardin nelle sue opere e può essere ritenuto una sua peculiarità identificativa. La città ritratta sullo sfondo ha molte caratteristiche che fanno propendere possa essere Verona, non è escluso che Karel l'avesse dipinta nel soggiorno veneto degli ultimi anni di vita. Dopo il suo alunnato presso Nicolaes Berchem, Karel si trasferì in Italia nel 1642, dove, seppur giovanissimo, entrò nella comunità d'artisti Bentvueghels di Roma. Successivamente viaggiò e soggiornò in Francia e nei Paesi Bassi, ritornò a Roma nel 1675 per risiedere poi a Venezia fino alla morte. La sua arte è una sintesi mirabile della sua predisposizione paesaggistica e del suo interesse per la pittura bambocciante.
