Three German Postage Stamps: 1994 Issue of Friedrich von Steuben and 1980 Issue of Götz von Berlichingen - A vertical pair of German commemorative postage stamps from the 1994 Friedrich von Steuben issue. Each stamp features a portrait of Friedrich Wilhelm v. Steuben (1730–1794) against a background depicting an American flag and a historical battle scene. Both have a denomination of ”100” and are inscribed ”DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST.” Accompanying them is a single German commemorative stamp, issued in 1980, featuring a portrait of Götz von Berlichingen (1480–1562). This stamp has a denomination of ”60” and is inscribed ”DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST.” All stamps are made of paper and feature perforated edges.
