Three German Postage Stamps: Max von Laue (1979) and Alfred Wegener (1980) - A group of three German postage stamps. Two stamps, issued by the DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST in 1979, commemorate Max von Laue's Nobel Prize in Physics 1914 for X-ray diffraction on a crystal lattice. Each features a diffraction pattern in shades of blue and green, and is denominated 60. The third stamp, issued by the DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST BERLIN in 1980, features a portrait of Alfred Wegener (1880–1930) and a map illustrating his Theorie der Kontinentalverschiebung (Theory of Continental Drift). This stamp is denominated 60 and presented in blue, orange, and black. All stamps retain their perforations and are in good overall visual condition.
