Three Postage Stamps of the Deutsche Bundespost, Including 'Der Rattenfänger von Hameln' from 1978 - This lot features three perforated postage stamps issued by the Deutsche Bundespost (German Federal Post Office). The top stamp, dated 1978, depicts 'Der Rattenfänger von Hameln' (The Pied Piper of Hamelin) in a stylized, multicolored design, with a face value of 50 Pfennig. This stamp shows evidence of postal use with a clear postmark. To its lower left is a 1980 stamp depicting a monochrome photographic portrait of 'Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach' (1830-1916), with a face value of 60 Pfennig, and appears to be in unused condition. The third stamp, dated 1979, depicts 'Doctor Johannes Faust' in a multicolored scene with a devil, with a face value of 60 Pfennig, and also bears a partial postmark indicating prior use. All stamps are made of paper.
