Two German Commemorative Stamps Used: 100 Years Berlin Metro (2002) and 50 Years Lufthansa (1976) - A lot of two used German commemorative prints, both on paper. The print on the right, issued in 2002, celebrates ”100 Jahre Berliner Bahn” (100 Years of the Berlin Underground) and is identified in the catalogs as MiNr. 2242 and Sc.#2149. It features a modern design with a blurred background suggesting a train station, a prominent white ”U” (for U-Bahn/Metro) on a blue field, and is marked with the denomination ”56” and ”Deutschland.” It bears a circular postmark reading ”BRIEFZENTRUM” dated ”19.12.02.” The print on the left, issued in 1976, commemorates ”50 Jahre Deutsche Lufthansa” (50 Years of German Lufthansa). It depicts a blue biplane (”D-1929”) and is inscribed with ”DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST” and the denomination ”50.” Both prints were used postally and have circular postmarks.
