Pair of United Nations Stamps Geneva F.s. 0.80 (#9) and Polish Commemorative Stamp - This lot features a pair of United Nations Geneva stamps, denomination F.s. 0.80, identified as part of definitive series #9, issued for the Geneva office. Both stamps feature the United Nations emblem and the Secretariat Building in a teal and white color scheme. The left stamp is clearly stamped ”GENEVE” with the date ”20.-9.-80” (September 20, 1980). The right stamp has no visible stamp. Accompanying them is a stamp from ”POLSKA” (Poland), denomination ”1 ZŁ” (1 Złoty), commemorating the ”KOMISJA EDUKACJI NARODOWEJ - 1773” (Commission for National Education - 1773). This Polish stamp features a sepia-toned portrait of G. PIRAMOWICZ and includes the Polish text: ”SŁUŻMY JAK MOŻEMY OJCZYŹNIE. EDUKACJA JEJ DAĆ MOŻE RADĘ I SIŁĘ.” (Let us serve our Fatherland to the best of our ability. Education can give it Counsel and Strength.) All stamps have intact perforations and are presented on a dark background.
