Antique wooden sculpture, China, first half of the 20th century (ca. 1910-1930), depicting a young Buddhist monk seated on a stylized base made of red rock, a hue traditionally associated with prosperity, vital energy, and protection in China. 17 x 35 x 17 cm - Good conditions. The polychrome lacquer shows traces of age, consistent with artisanal production in the first half of the 20th century, a period in which small workshops produced votive statuettes and decorative objects for domestic environments.
