A BLUE AND WHITE 'LOTUS POND' PORCELAIN DISH - d cm 30 Finely painted in underglaze blue, the centre within a circular medallion depicts a lakeside scene with two mandarin ducks swimming among lotus flowers, while a small bird perches on a pine branch emerging from rocks. The rim is decorated with flowering branches, repeated on the exterior. The base bears a four-character mark Fu Gui Jia Qi (富贵佳器), meaning “Exquisite Vessel of Wealth and Honour.” Provenance: private collection, Tuscany.
