A SILVER AND BRASS INLAID ALLOY BIDRI CIRCULAR TRAY, BIDAR, DECCAN, PROBABLY 18TH CENTURY. Of circular form with upturned rim, inlaid with a central flowerhead medallion amongst bands of radiating petals, the border with entwined flowerheads and leafy tendrils, 32.2cm diam. Ref: This tray may have been made to support a huqqa base or alternatively it may have been used on its own to serve a selection of different dishes in small portions known as a 'thali', which takes its name from the Hindi word for tray.
