David Frishman was a poet, editor, translator, writer, philithonist, art critic and Hebrew journalist, one of the pioneers of modern Hebrew literature. In his well-known case: "The work of art - the revival of the nation" expressed his belief in the need to strengthen art and literature in the life of the Jewish people. Politically he opposed the Zionist movement and did not share its views.
