Following in the footsteps of his father, Clyde Leon Keller Sr., a prominent landscape painter, Keller Jr. developed his own artistic voice, focusing primarily on watercolor landscapes. His dedication to the arts extended beyond his personal work; he served as president of the Oregon Society of Artists, an organization his father helped establish. Through his leadership and artistic endeavors, Keller Jr. played a significant role in nurturing and promoting the visual arts within the region.​
