JULES DAHLAGER ”TIMBERLINE” CORDOVA, ALASKA OIL PAINTING - Original oil painting on panel by listed artist, Jules Bernard Dahlager (AK, 1884 - 1952), signed lower right, dated '28 and titled on the verso ””Timberline”, Cordova, Alaska”. Art measures 5.5” H x 7.5” W presented in a frame measuring 12” H x 14” W x 1” D.  Artist bio: One of Alaska's most beloved artists, Jules Dahlager is often associated with fellow painters Sydney Laurence, Eustace Ziegler, and Ted Lambert as part of the ”Alaska Four.” Dahlager sold a picture to Herbert Hoover when the then Secretary of Commerce visited Alaska with President Harding's party in 1923. In addition to landscapes, he painted numerous portraits, among them many of Horse Creek Mary, the well-known Copper River Native woman also painted frequently by Eustace Ziegler, and Chief Johnson, a distinguished Tlingit elder in Ketchikan.
