COLLECTION OF PHOTOS OF IRON EYES CODY - A collection of midcentury photos of Hollywood star Iron Eyes Cody (1904-1999) with political figures and stars such as Jimmy Carter. Iron Eyes Cody was famous for portraying Native Americans in many popular westerns, as well as the ”Crying Indian” in the famous Keep America Beautiful anti-littering PSA campaign. Despite claiming tribal heritage his entire life, after his death it was discovered that Iron Eyes Cody was not Native American at all, and was in fact an Italian-American born under the name Espera Oscar de Corti to Sicilian immigrant parents. The photos range in size, but most are 10” L x 8” W.
