CARVED JADEITE BANGLE & ANTIQUE LAVENDER JADEITE MONKEY WITH PEACH PENDANT - This lot includes a jadeite bangle with carved Chinese peach motifs, and an antique white and lavender jadeite pendant with intricately carved climbing monkeys and a Chinese peach. The climbing monkeys and Chinese peach theme, which symbolizes vitality and longevity, is commonly associated with the mythological tale of Sun Wukong (the monkey king) guarding and indulging in the heavenly garden of the peaches of immortality described in the 16th century novel Journey to the West  by Wu Cheng'en. The pendant has a 14k gold and three accent diamond bail which was a later addition to the antique carved jadeite. Both the bracelet and the pendant have been tested and carefully scrutinized to be jadeite (true jade) and not common imitations such as soapstone or nephrite. The pendant measures 2.5” H x 1” W x 0.3” D.
