SETH THOMAS ”WHITE FLEET” NO.298 B PEACE CLOCK - This ”gingerbread” style kitchen mantle clock was produced circa 1900. The glass panel on the front is reverse painted glass of the ”Great White Fleet” of the Spanish-American War. Inside is a brass 8 day movement that strikes on the hour and the half. The clock measures approx. 24” H x 15” W x 5” D. The Spanish–American War (April 21- August 13, 1898) was fought between Spain and the United States which brought an end to almost four centuries of Spanish presence in the Americas, Asia, and the Pacific.
