TOBIAS AND RAPHAEL BAS-RELIEF WALL PLAQUE - A painted terracotta bas-relief wall plaque is a recreation of a portion of the altarpiece originally from the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, Italy created by Andrea Della Robbia circa 1475. The item depicts the winged archangel Raphael next to Tobias on their journey home to heal his fathers blindness. Both figures are depicted with halos to represent Raphael's divinity and Tobias purity and divine protection. This portion of the altarpiece has been cast and recreated many times. The item measures approximately 18” H x 23” W x 5” D.
