Born in Lithuania, he served with distinction as a communal rabbi in Barysaw, Ukraine, before assuming a senior rabbinic post in Švenčionys (שווינציאן / Święciany, Vilna district). He was celebrated as a master orator and dynamic activist for national and religious development. Content: Written in a clear, highly methodical European rabbinic cursive script on his official personal letterhead (”RABIN m. Świeciany z. Wil. / מנוס איסר פאלענסקי החופ”ק שווינציאן”). Notable Connection: Rabbi Polonski was a pioneering figure in early 20th-century religious cultural networks, famously publishing the work Puma De-Nahora.
