FOUR WORKS BY BY EARL HASTINGS BEYMER (OHIO, 1890-1975) - Includes a coastal view, 13.5” high, 20” wide (overall); a girl throwing a snowball, 13” high, 12” wide (overall); a carved walnut plaque, 13” high, 10.5” wide; and a redecorated container, 9” high, 11” diameter. Beymer was born in Beymerstown (now Old Washington), in Muskingum County. During his life, he created an impressive body of work depicting historical scenes, life in his hometown, and nature, and it includes paintings, carvings, and other mediums. For his paintings, he typically made the frames as well. This grouping represents the first public offering of Beymer's work. Provenance: an Ohio collection. Condition: Some wear and minor loss.
