OHIO FULL-STOCK RIFLE - Jacob Marker, Franklin Township, Darke County, 1830-1860. Curly maple full-stock rifle signed on top of the barrel, lock marked ”Golcher.” Octagonal barrel is 38” long; 53” long overall. Jacob Marker was one of multiple members of the Marker family engaged in the gunsmithing trade. He was born in Maryland (where he learned the trade), and he married Sarah Shively in Dayton in 1829. The family (ultimately including 8 children) settled in Franklin Township, Darke County. PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE LIVE AUCTIONEERS LIVE SHIPPING.
