OHIO SHERATON CHEST OF DRAWERS - Southern Ohio, 2nd quarter-19th century, cherry and pine. Four drawers and turned legs. 45” high, 44” wide, 21.5” deep. According to tradition, the damage to the top was due to a candle that tipped over and burned a spot. No one in the room paid any attention because the owner at the time, Margaret Cherrington Bailey (1830-1922) was on her deathbed. Provenance: Dan Blazer collection, Gallipolis, Ohio.
