”RURAL OHIO” BY JUSTIN OSBUN (20TH CENTURY) - Oil on artist board, signed lower left and dated 1959, and inscribed same on the back. Charming view of the rolling hills of rural Ohio, with a farm in the foreground. Original frame. 18.5”high, 29.5” wide (sight), 23” high, 34” wide (overall). Provenance: private collection. Justin Osbun was born on July 28, 1866, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Alfred Osbun and Leah Brown Osbun, the youngest of at least five children. He married Ida Stober in Dec. of 1892, and by 1900, they had three children, a daughter and two sons. At that time Justin was working as a carpenter. By 1910, the family had relocated to California, where Justin would spend the remainder of his life working in construction. Ida died in 1959, and Justin followed in 1963, just a few weeks before his 97th birthday. Condition: Good condition.
