SET OF OHIO CLASSICAL CHAIRS - Possibly the Western Chair Manufactury, Cincinnati, 2nd quarter-19th century, curly maple. Includes seven adult chairs and one child's chair, all with carved and turned backs, turned legs, and caned seats. 33.5” and 29” high. Provenance: an Ohio collection, ex David Good (Ohio). William Ross, John Geyer, and Enoch Kerr formed the Western Chair Manfactory in Cincinnati in 1830, and for more than a decade the firm produced ”a large and splendid assortment of chairs, settees, etc.”, advertising regularly in the Cincinnati City Directory.
