WISCONSIN STEPBACK CUPBOARD - Mid-19th century, walnut/butternut and poplar. Two-piece, the upper section with single-pane doors, and the lower section with three drawers over two doors, all diamond panels. Retaining its original grungy surface with appropriate wear. 85” high, 53.75” wide, 19.25” deep. Diamond panels are found on furniture made in Germanic communities throughout the Midwest. This cupboard (along with four others in this auction) were collected in Wisconsin. Provenance: a Midwestern collector Pickup or freight shipping is required for this lot. Condition: Largely original and untouched, with some wear and minor losses; the hardware appears original, although the drawer pulls (period and appropriate) have a shadow suggesting that they may be replaced or perhaps had back plates.
