FOOTSTOOL OF WESTERN RESERVE INTEREST - Ellsworth Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, 19th century, oak. Small stool with its original finish. 13.75” long. On the underside is an old label indicating that the stool was made from wood from the pulpit of the Methodist Church began by Rev. Nicholas Gee (1782-1867), a New York transplant. The church referenced is probably the original church, built on Gee's farm in Ellsworth township about 1835. That church was replaced by one in the village about 1840, and that church was replaced again in 1881. Provenance: a Western Reserve collection. PLEASE NOTE OUR SHIPPING PROCESS.
