TWO WOODEN BOXES - Early 20th century, mixed woods. Two decorative boxes. An oak box with flat lid and elaborate decorative metal hinges and escutcheon shaped like leaves and flowers. 5” high, 10.75” wide, 8” deep. And a probably basswood handmade box with pyrographic and carved decoration. Domed lid contains an etched scene with a castle, a sailing ship, and furled banners, framed by pyrographic stippling. Sides contain a wide band of repeating flowers in Art Nouveau style, framed with more stippling. 6.25” high, 10.5” wide, 6.75” deep. Provenance: from a West Coast collection. Our affordable in-house shipping: shippable items will be packed and shipped in-house, and larger items will be sent via freight; we will bill you separately for the cost of packing and shipping. Condition: Both boxes have small splits in some joints. Domed lid does not close properly.
