MODIFIED NINE-PATCH QUILT - American, 19th century, cotton. A modified nine-patch quilt with alternating blocks of four triangles forming a square. Composed of printed brown, grey, blue, pink and white fabrics on a printed pink ground. Hand-pieced and quilted. 72” square. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio; purchased in Mansfield, Ohio, 1996.
