OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, ARDNER BROTHERS 1856 - Knox Co., Ohio, 1856. A jacquard coverlet in red, gold, blue, and white with a tiled centerfield containing four flowers with curling leaves resembling ”pincers, ” offset with concentric diamonds. Grape vine border. Corner blocks inscribed ”W. IN KNOX COUNTY OHIO BY JACOB AND MICHAEL ARDNER 1856.” Fringed on three sides, center seam. 83” long, 73” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
