1872 INDIANA LOG CABIN QUILT, SIGNED - American, 1872, cotton and velvet. A log cabin quilt primarily in shades of orange, grey, blue, red, and brown. Hand-pieced. Signed ”Made by Minerva Craig in 1872, aged 22.” 84” long, 63” wide. Gunn's research indicates that Minerva Craig (1850-1872) may have lived and died in Indiana, but we have been unable to find the precise woman and we have not seen Gunn's sources. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio; from Cindy Claycamp, Marion Indiana Quilter's Hall of Fame, 2016.
