BETHLEHEM STAR AND PATCHWORK ”KITE” QUILTS - American, 19th century, cotton. A Bethlehem star lap quilt. Stars composed of printed green, pink, cheddar, blue, and purple diamonds, alternated with solid white diamonds, on a yellow printed ground. Hand-pieced and quilted. 67” square; together with a patchwork quilt with a diamond ”kite”-like pattern composed of printed rde, yellow, orange, brown, blue, and green fabrics on a solid white ground. Hand-pieced and quilted. 82” long, 70” wide. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio; found in Southington, Ohio, 1994.
