OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, BELLVILLE 1850 - Richland Co., Ohio, 1850. A jacquard coverlet in blue and white. Centerfield contains double roses and blossom. Side borders with distelfink (birds and rose trees), bottom border with flowers and leaves. Corner block contains eagle, ”BELLVILLE OHIO 1850.” Possibly from Samuel F. Van Vleck, a Bellville weaver. Fringed on two sides, top side bound. Center seam. 78.5” long, 67” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
