OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, SIGNED W/ UNUSUAL BORDER - Seneca Co., Ohio, mid-19th century. A jacquard coverlet in blue and white. Centerfield with large 8-point stars in geometric tiles, surrounded by small blossoms. Side borders with tulips and grape vines. Bottom border contains wide, unusual motifs of an Orthodox cathedral. Corner blocks signed ”F PETER BOLLINGER, TIFFIN, SENECA COUNTY OHIO.” Fringed on two sides, center seam. 81” long, 62” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
