FANCY JACQUARD COVERLET W/ BIRDS AND FLOWERS - American, mid-19th century. A jacquard coverlet in red and white. Centerfield with large medallion containing central flower surrounded by grapevines, dotted background with scattered rosettes. Wide border containing wheat, roses, peacocks, doves, ferns, and foliage. Fringed on three sides without a center seam. No corner block, unsigned. 80” long, 75” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
