JACQUARD COVERLET - American, mid-19th century. A jacquard coverlet in green, red, indigo, and white. Centerfield with double roses, eight-point stars, crossed ferms, and blossoms. Side borders with pinwheels and blossom clusters over wheat or rope design. Bottom border with eagles and eight-point stars. Corner blocks unsigned with a rooster in crescent, over blossoms. Fringed on three sides, with center seam. 75” long, 70” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
